Lash Extension Aftercare

Lash aftercare is crucial for the longevity of your lashes and for eye hygiene/health. Remember! Retention is 50/50 with the lash trusts work and client aftercare! Let's keep those lashes looking fluffy and clean.

How to care for your lashes

1. Do not wet lashes for 24 hours after application

No water must come in contact for 24 hours. This also includes avoiding steamy environments, saunas, hot showers, etc. Keep your lashes as dry as possible to allow the lash adhesiveto cure durably.

2. Wash lashes regularly with lash shampoo

Hygiene and sanitation are still the main goal of eyelash extension aftercare routine. Eventually, oil, dirt and dead skin cells build up in the lashes ruining eyelash retention. Dirty Lashes facilitates a good breeding environment for eyelash mites to populate and intestate the eyes consequently irritating them. Be sure to wash those lashes every day with a good foaming eyelash shampoo!

3. Do not sleep on them

Sleeping on your face and sometimes, burying face on a pillow result to lashes that are going every-which direction and premature fall- outs.

4. Avoid too much heat

Sunbeds, saunas, sunbathing for hours in direct sunlight are big NO- NO’s when having eyelash extensions. Technically, eyelash extensions are made of plastics and when exposed to extreme heat, these lashes can melt. Furthermore, heat causes the lash adhesive to become crispy and brittle thereby weaking the bond and resulting into fall- outs.

5. No oil-based products

Oil causes retention issues to the eyelash extensions! Please avoid oil-based make- up products. Oils are the number one enemy to eyelash extensions. (As you probably know), adhesive includes a quick-drying resin called cyanoacrylate. Oil eats down at the cyanoacrylate bond to dissolve and therefore affects how long lashes will last.

6. Don’t rub or touch the lashes so often

Touching the lashes frequently disturbs the bond of the lash adhesives, the false lashes and the natural lashes that may sooner result to fall- out.
